Canva - Design Software
Being able to design and create good looking imagery for your apps is a skill. There are a whole host of graphical development packages out there, such as – Photoshop, Gimp and InkScape to name a few. These programs can give you the tools you need to create imagery, but they all have a fairly steep learning curve. If you are new to designing, you might find yourself struggling when it comes to crafting bespoke images.
Canva is a user-friendly, free alternative to these software packages:
Canva is a web-based design platform that allows you to create imagery – ideal for your Homescreen, Background and Header images for your apps.
You can choose from prebuilt layouts and designs, or start from scratch with your own custom dimensions. There is a good selection of free stock images for you to use. Or you could look to purchase a monthly plan/individual image sets if you want an even wider range of resources.
The whole system is cloud hosted, allowing you to access your account and designs whenever you need. They even have an iPad app for you to design from the comfort of your armchair!
