Individual Developer Accounts

If you have sold an app to a business that is not a registered entity and does not have a 'Dunn and Bradstreet D-U-N-S Number', the only option your customer will have is to create an individual developer account.

Submitting an app to an individual developer account poses a few hurdles and in some cases a rejection from Apple. Here are the hurdles we need to overcome:

• Apple will not be able to verify the identity of the business as the account has been set up in a personal name and there is no 'D-U-N-S Number'.
• Therefore, supporting documentation will have to be provided to ‘prove’ that the individual who has set up the developer account owns the business. This can prove to be tricky but supporting documentation is covered further on in the guide.
• Also, Eazi-Apps cannot be authorized as a team member. Therefore the publishing team will not be able to bypass two-factor authentication (2FA) which poses its own challenges.

Whilst we have overcome these issues to date with submitting apps to an individual developer account, it is very clear that Apple is making it more difficult. Where possible, always try and get your client to set up an Organisation Developer Account to avoid these issues.
