Shipday - Delivery Tracking

Important: This feature works with PWAs, WebApps and Native apps published after 8th April 2022. If your Native app was published before this date, it will require a republish.

Shipday allows businesses (restaurants, grocers, online retailers etc) to provide an advanced system to automate delivery tracking. Businesses can track their drivers and customers can track their deliveries in real-time with automated SMS notifications.  Shipday works with CommercePro and XDelivery, and with a thermal printer using our FoodPrint feature.

Here is a short video demonstrating the feature in action (you can share this link with prospects and here is the FullPivot version):

Note: Before you go through the steps below, you will need a live store that has been built on CommercePro or XDelivery.

Step 1: Setup a Shipday Account and Get API Key

The first step is to setup a Shipday account. Once the account has been setup, go to account settings on Shipday and get your API Key.

Step 2: Add the API Key to the Shipday feature within the CMS

Once you have your API key from Shipday, go to the Shipday feature within the CMS and add the API key to setup the connection. Once the API Key is validated, you can move onto step 3 below.

Step 3: Select the Commerce Platform

Once your API key has been validated, you will see some new tabs appear within the Shipday feature in the CMS. One of the tabs you will see is ‘Platforms’. Navigate to this tab where you will see any supported Commerce features you have added. Select the commerce feature you want to link Shipday to and choose an order start date. The order start date is the start date you want orders to be sent to Shipday for tracking purposes. You must have at least one commerce platform selected.

Step 4: Select Driver/Carrier and Owner Management

In the CMS within the Shipday feature, navigate to the ‘Driver/Carrier and Owner Management’ tab.  Within this tab, you will see all the registered users of the app. You can then:

  • select which user is a ‘driver’. When you do this, the driver’s details are passed through to the Shipday platform too.
  • select which users is an ‘owner’. When you do this, the owner can then assign orders to the driver.

Step 4: Manage Orders – Owners

Owners can assign orders to a driver in any of these 4 ways:

  • Assign orders to a driver via the CMS
  • Assign orders to a driver via the Shipday platform
  • Assign orders to a driver via the business app
  • The driver can assign the order to themselves via the business app.

Depending on your use case, you can select the most appropriate way for the business. Below is a quick video going over these 4 methods:

Step 5: Shipday Driver App

Drivers will need to manage their orders when out for delivery via the Shipday Driver app. The app can be downloaded from the app stores:
