Sales & Success Center: Creating accounts

You can quickly create prospects via Sales & Success Center > Accounts > Create Account by following these steps.

  1. Search for the business you are prospecting to.

You can choose to search for a specific business


Note: If you choose this option then you can also add up to 3 suggested competitors for the list in the following screen.

Or a general search


  1. Fill in the business profile screen that appears.

As the information here comprises the 'Business Profile' and it is used for many different products and services as the 'anchor data' to tie comparisons to, it is important to fill this out as thoroughly as possible.

It usually pulls a large amount of this business' information automatically, but best practice is to check this through with the customer to make sure this is how they want to be viewed online - for example is the exact format of the address how they want it to show on their other online listings?

    1. The following fields are required:
      • Business Name
      • Categories
        • If you are unable to locate a suitable business category, select Other. Please be aware that certain product features may be unavailable.
      • Country/Region
      • Street Address
        • If the account does not have a physical address, select Service Area Business below the ZIP/Postal Code field.
      • City
      • State/Province
      • ZIP/Postal Code
      • Business Phone Number
    2. Optional - Expand and fill in the Full Business Profile and Administration sections. These are not required when creating an account.
    3. Click Create Account.

      fter the prospect/account has been created, Salespeople will be presented with the following options:

    • Generate a Snapshot Report– Generates a Snapshot Report for the business. 
    • Add contact – Any person or persons that you will be in contact with. 


      This can also be used to grant contacts access to Business Center by making them a 'user' but we do not recommend this if you have not yet had a conversation with the customer about it already. Upgrading them from a contact to a user can be done at any time within the account.

    • Create opportunity – If you have any potential sales opportunities with the business, you can add those here.
