Custom fields in the community feature
Custom fields only work if you have added a profile feature to your app. In the absence of the profile module, the following message will be displayed:
As soon as the profile feature is added, you will see a page similar to the one below. It is a confirmation page before importing fields from the community feature to the profile feature.
The fields from Community will be imported into the Profile module once the "create default fields" button is clicked. You can then add/edit fields in the Profile module, and it will sync with the Community module. The fields you create in the Profile module will be used for community signups/searches.
When fields are imported, you will see some settings that can be adjusted to change how the search works.
In the "map custom fields" section, you can determine how the fields will act when matching the user profiles. For example, consider an age field where you can configure whether you prefer the system to identify an exact match, a range, or a similar value. This way, whenever you add new search criteria fields, you can specify how they should behave.
Keep in mind that you have the option to create multiple sections within the profile feature. Nevertheless, profile matching relies exclusively on the section you choose in the "section for the search."
Fields in other sections will be used exclusively for data capture and display, without any involvement in search operations.
You can include a maximum of 10 fields in the search/profile match section, while there are no restrictions on the number of fields you can have in other sections.
After adding new fields to the Profile feature, you must click the "save" or "sync" button on this page to display the recently added fields.
