How to clear your cache & solve common browser connection issues.

It may be somewhat of a cliché, but many issues with connecting to the CMS, or other browser-based Eazi-Business resources can often be remedied by clearing the cache on your browser of choice. Those pesky temporary files can become corrupted, and prevent successful connections to the requested servers. For some brief instructions on how to clear the cache/temporary data, please see the breakdown below.

Please see the directions below on ways to clear the cache on your device but there is another, faster, way to bypass issues with caching or temporary files. This method is to use the Incognito/In Private/Private window in the browser of your choice due to this bypassing the temp files used by your browser normally.

If clearing your cache does not solve your issue, other things to try include:

  • Turning off any VPN you are using
  • De-activating plugins on your browser
  • Resetting your device,
  • Whitelisting your device with Eazi-Business (please visit this site to find your external IP, and contact support with these details).

If you are still having trouble connecting, please contact support.

For Desktop versions:

Google Chrome: In Google Chrome, access the three-dot menu in the upper right corner, then select "Clear browsing data" (Or press "Ctrl+Shift+Delete" as a shortcut). This opens a dialog box (please see below) allowing you to erase your browsing history, download history, cookies, cached images and files, saved passwords, and more. You can choose specific timeframes, ranging from the last hour to all-time for deletion. Notably, Chrome doesn't provide an option to disable history collection. However, you can regularly delete it by visiting myactivity.google.com, clicking Web & App Activity, unchecking 'Include Chrome History,' and enabling Auto-Delete based on your preferred time frame.

Microsoft Edge: Microsoft Edge, built on Chromium (so very similar to Chrome), offers similar steps. Press Ctrl+Shift+Del or navigate to the three-dot menu > Settings > Privacy, search, and Services> Clear Browsing Data (Please see the image below). Here, you can delete browsing history, cookies, and more, with options spanning from the last hour to all time. To prevent syncing across devices, sign out of the browser. Microsoft stores some history online; manage this via the 'Manage your data' link in your Microsoft account privacy settings.

Safari: On macOS, Safari simplifies history clearing. Click History > Clear History and choose a timeframe. This not only erases browsing history but also cookies and data cache. Alternatively, navigate to History > Show All History to search for specific sites. Manage cookies by going to Safari > Preferences > Privacy and selecting 'Manage website data.'

Mozilla Firefox: In Firefox, go to the hamburger menu > History> Clear Recent History. This will take you to the image below. Configure history settings as desired, including custom options for cookies and cache. The Clear History button allows deletion based on specific time frames and data types. Check the Sync section to manage synchronization settings for history, bookmarks, tabs, passwords, and preferences across devices.

Opera: Opera, built with the Chromium Project engine, again mirrors Chrome's settings. Access History via the main menu, and then click Clear Browsing Data. Opera stands out by offering a built-in VPN option, enhancing online safety. This feature can be accessed via opera://settings/VPN in the address bar or by clicking the VPN button in the address bar.

For Mobile versions (iOS and Android):

Safari (iOS): To delete history, cookies, and other data, go to Settings > Safari > then scroll down and select Clear History & Website Data (Please see screenshot below). Selective site data deletion is possible through Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data, where you can edit or delete individual entries.

Google Chrome (iOS and Android): Chrome's mobile version allows deletion of browsing data for specific time frames. On iOS, choose between 'Edit' or 'Clear Browsing Data' options. Android users enjoy additional flexibility, limiting deletion to specific periods. Select Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear Browsing Data (Please see the screenshot below).

Microsoft Edge (iOS and Android): Edge users can clear browsing data, cookies, and more through Settings > Privacy and Security. Individual site data removal is possible via the History menu. Desktop syncing reflects history across mobile and desktop devices.

Mozilla Firefox (iOS and Android): Firefox's iOS version permits data management via the hamburger menu > Settings > Data Management. On Android, use the three-dot menu to access browsing history. The 'Delete browsing data' option allows customized deletion choices. Enable 'Delete browsing data on quit' for automatic clearing.

Opera (iOS and Android): Opera's mobile versions offer clear history options. On iPhone, access History through the three-dot menu, then click the three dots again for 'Clear History.' Alternatively, clear all data in Settings > Clear Browser Data. Android users can access History via The profile menu > Settings Cog > Privacy & Security > Clear Data (Please see screenshot below). You can also choose individual site deletion or complete data removal via the trash can icon or Settings.
